Nautica de la Cruz has built a decades-long stellar music radio career and formidable reputation in Los Angeles radio. Her grit and determination kept her going after 14 rejections to land her first radio internship in college (while putting herself through school,) and she has never looked back. Nautica has been a radio host/personality at some of the most popular radio stations in Los Angeles, including Power 106, KDAY, and 100.3 the Beat before landing at the iconic radio station KJLH, owned by legend Stevie Wonder. She has worked with Steve Harvey, Doctor Dre and Ed Lover of Yo! MTV Raps fame, has interviewed stars and luminaries like Beyonce, Janet Jackson and President Barack Obama, and continues to connect with the community and music fans during her weekday morning show. During this music jobs episode, Nautica walks us through her early days growing up in New York, the challenges faced as a woman in radio, and how she continues to grow and evolve in the music industry.
